About Me

I started tutoring in January 2020 and haven't looked back since! I initially began through a third-party company, and have been tutoring privately under D. Morgan Tutoring since January 2021. In that time I've delivered over 1000 hours (and counting!) of lessons across Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, from levels ranging from children as young as nine years old, to adults in their fourties looking for a career change and needing to get some new qualifications.

In July 2022 I graduated from the University of Exeter, receiving a First-Class Masters in Physics with Astrophysics; so I'd like to think I know a thing or two!  I got into Physics as a kid, when I came across Michio Kaku's "Physics of the Impossible", which looks at the tangibility of some of the things we see in Science Fiction. As I got older, I realised I liked doing the same thing, and the physicist was born!

I'm from a working class background with not the best of schools available to me (to put it diplomatically...) but I was naturally gifted and would regularly be at the top of my class. Whilst this sounds amazing, this lead me to coasting right through to A-levels, never really having that *push* to do more. I got BBC the first time I sat my A-levels and did not get into Exeter - this was the wake up call I needed. I pulled my act together and got ABB when I re-sat (though I'm adamant it was close to AAB! Totally not bitter about that Chemistry grade...). Hopefully I can give you that wake up call sooner than I had it, so that you don't have to go through the extra year like I did!

I genuinely enjoy helping people to understand things - whatever the subject matter may be, and if someone tells an anecdote along the lines of "I'll always remember that because my tutor, David told me it was like this", then I've done my job!

Outside of strictly academic tuition, I have a background in Judo, having been training for 18 years, and coaching for ten of them; I've also been a qualified UKCC level 2 coach for four of those ten to make it official! In the partaking of the coaching course, I've taken child protection courses, and have an enhanced DBS - available on request.
